The capital of the Yucatan region of Mexico, Mérida is an enticing tourist destination. Clad in colonial architecture and perched on the sea, this is one of the most beautiful tropical regions in the world.
It doesn’t get much better than having the perfect private vacation home here. If you’re wondering just what exactly constitutes “perfection” in this context, you’ve happened upon the right place. Today on homify360 we will be exploring an utterly marvellous vacation home in Mérida by the talented design team at P11Arquitectos. This ranch style home sticks to mod design styles, and it comes with all the high-end trappings.
Complete with a spacious veranda and beautiful landscaping, the owners of this home might even find themselves on a permanent vacation in this abode. We hope you’ll join us on this tour of the most glamorous home in Mérida.
From the lack of windows and large fence at the exterior we can see that the home is quite private, which undoubtedly enhances that oasis getaway feel. The palm trees and well-appointed lighting in the front yard and walkway give it a touch of tropical glam. The distinctly rectangular shapes of the structure itself reveal its modern design.
Inside, we will begin our tour in one of the primary living areas of the home, this sitting room. The large windows allow plenty of natural light, a welcome surprise from the seemingly windowless appearance of the façade.
The furnishings are simple with the addition of a few bold touches. For one, the lovely painting adds a pop of colour against the backdrop of the tropical foliage outside. The bright orange accent pillows complete the look.
The dining room is as glamorous as one might expect from this home. The double chandeliers and richly toned wooden floating wall give the space a classic feel. LED lights work to give the room an additional glow. The modern, semi open-plan design keeps things feeling spacious and open. Here, the artwork reflects the culture of the region.
The kitchen is sleek and modern in style. Clad in shiny chromatic appliances, dark tones, and simple kitchen fronts—many of which are without handles—the look is simple and luxurious. There is a bar for eating a casual meal or snack as an alternative to the more formal dining room. This room also gives us a better sense of the height of the ceilings throughout the home.
As we head out to the veranda, we certainly ought to take note of the remarkable landscaping that frames the pathway. The regional greenery is lush and well maintained. The pathway is clearly distinguished and the landscape design goes nicely with the layering of more rigid geometric shapes and the neutral colouring of the home itself.
Out back, we can see what is perhaps the most glorious part of the entire home: the large veranda. Shielded beneath the rectangular, modern roof is a resin-coated veranda that shines beneath the LED lighting overhead. It is a spacious area perfect for holding large gatherings of friends and family. We wager that this part of the home gets a lot of use in this tropical climate. The large bespoke glass windows bring additional continuity between the indoors and out.
