Located in Lelystad, The Netherlands, Pure & Original is a small, family-run paint producers which has been in business since 2006. Only first-rate materials and natural pigments are used for the company’s paints. In addition, the most rigorous environmental requirements are always taken into consideration to ensure the final results (beautifully painted surfaces) are perfectly safe for everyone.

That brings us to the Marrakech Walls paint range, one of Pure & Original‘s most eye-catching options. Based on the ancient Moroccan-style Tadelakt look, this is a perfect example of the designs used for old-world palaces due to the visual artistic splendour.

Completely mineral based, the Marrakech Walls range is ideal for when a slight concrete look is required. But the finished look can vary according to various factors:

• For a subtle shade with just a hint of visual character, one layer of Marrakech Walls paint is adequate.

• For more depth and texture, two layers of Marrakech Walls is recommended.

Walls and surfaces painted with the Marrakech Walls paint range can be made water resistant, and perfectly washable, thanks to Dead Flat Eco Sealer.

• To add an elegant and high-gloss finish, opt for a layer of the Italian Wax.

Let’s take a look at some examples of Pure & Original‘s Marrakech Walls range.

Old Rose

Ideal for spaces requiring a softer ambience, the Old Rose tint is ideal for anything from social zones (such as living rooms and dining areas) to stylish bedrooms. Here we see how the colour and pattern blends in beautifully with a country-style space, especially when combined with light-hued wood natural touches in the form of potted plants.

Blue Reef

For a fresh dose of Mother Nature (at least colour wise), Blue Reef expertly applies the ambience of a deep forest setting to an interior space. This natural vibe is enhanced even more with additional touches such as leather furniture, wooden floors and, again, potted plants.

Earth Stone

Don’t overlook the importance of neutral hues. Pure & Original certainly didn’t, which is why the Earth Stone shade is part of its Marrakech Walls collection.

Notice how a strong dose of pattern and texture shines through (as though only a light layer of paint was added onto a rich concrete wall), nearly cancelling out the need to add any wall art or décor to these walls.

Neutral Rice

Still in the neutral colour palette, Neutral Rice takes a much softer approach. Somewhere between cream and light beige, this tint is perfect for more classic-style spaces – especially due to the applied pattern/texture effect of the paint. The Marrakech Walls paint is edited by hand to create a crocodile structure. For this effect, a special decorative roller was used.

To move away from the prim-and-proper effect of that classic look, simply bring in some contemporary-style pieces, like the circular wall mirror (in contrasting black) and stainless steel pendant, as expertly shown in this example.

Oyster Grey

From industrial and rustic to modern, the Oyster Grey (with its rich texture shown in our example) can be the ideal option for various design styles. For this bathroom space, an Oriental-style steam bath vibe is conjured up, made even more effective thanks to the elaborate designs of the mirror and chandeliers.
